At present, Mawei Shipyard has the capacity to design, build and repair various types of ships below 35,000 tons, becoming an important ship production base in southern China. The Mawei Shipyard is located in the Fuzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone on the lower reaches of the Minjiang River. It covers an area of 334,000 square meters and currently has 1,765 employees, including 282 engineering and technical personnel.
